Business Description
Advent Business Sales is pleased to offer to the market this extremely well established public house, who’s history originates in the 1600’s.

The present owners have been running the public house for the last 7½ years and are reluctantly selling due to retirement plans.

This very well known and attended pub appears in the Camra Good Beer Guide and has been for the last 3 years, it is also a Cask Marque Pub.

To ensure the real ales are kept at a correct temperature, there is a cellar devoted to their care alone and not mixed with the cold requirements of lagers and pasteurised ciders.

The pub has a quiz night on Wednesdays and offers a good range of hot ‘pub grub’ including starters and light bites, jackets, baguettes and ciabatta, scampi, plaice, chilli, tikka masala, lasagne, Cumberland sausage, burgers, chips and filled Yorkshire puddings..

The pub sponsors the local amateur dramatic group, is a centre for the monthly meetings of the Hillman Imp Club, as well as the cycling club and the mountaineering club. It also has two football teams, one on Saturday and one on Sunday as well as being the central point for the annual raft race on the river. A separate mini bar is used in the car park for this event.

To cater for a lot of these events and clubs, the pub has a function room and a large rear secure beer garden. The function room has a capacity of 40 people.

The pub is well cared for and is well equipped. The split between wet and dry sales is approximately 85 / 15%. It enjoys very good above average turnover with an excellent GP.

The pub is also well know be good beer drinkers from many miles away from its village and is well respected.

The pub is staffed by the 2 owners and 10 part time employees as required.

We are advised that stock at cost is approximately £6,000 - £7,000.

Stock takes are carried out quarterly.
There is additional space within the pub without taking area off the public or lounge bar, to extend the kitchen area and this offer a greater selection of food if required.

This is a well loved and very well attended public house, drawing people from way outside its local area, the present vendors will be sorry to let it go.

Due to the vendor's ill health, he is looking to sell quickly hence the recent price reduction
